Get ‘EM by the Roots

May 30, 2026

Join Invasive Species Action Month when you sign up to participate in a morning of ‘digging in’ and getting dirty as we come together with our friends at Rotary Club of Burlington Central to improve biodiversity along a section of the Bruce Trail running through City View Park.

Together we will tackle invasive Buckthorn and Garlic Mustard plants.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the negative effects of invasive plant species, while helping to support native plants and wildlife in our local greenspace.

Let’s make a difference together!

Please note:

  • Garlic Mustard removal requires bending and or kneeling to carefully remove plants by hand at ground level. This activity is open to ages 10 and above. Children ages 10-13 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Buckthorn removal involves a number of tasks such as digging with shovels, operating extractigators, and carrying removed bushes/branches.

Space is limited for this event with advance registration required.
