Community Clean Up Green Up - Happening NOW!

Our 13th annual dual-component Community Clean Up event is NOW ON. Be a part of this city-wide initiative to help keep Burlington clean, green and beautiful. Organizing a safe, fun and rewarding litter clean up is a terrific way to enjoy the outdoors while helping the planet locally. Gather your family, friends, community group, coworkers and classroom, and help remove litter from our parks, creeks, school yards, neighbourhoods and more.

NEW this year: participate in the Litter League Fundraising Challenge!

Nature Discovery at the Beach

Located at the historic Pump House at 1094 Lakeshore RdBeachway Park, pop by our Eco-Hub on weekends and holidays beginning in May for a variety of eco-awareness, advocacy, and action opportunities!

Participate in our beach clean up challenge, nature discovery activities, eco-crafts for kids, bike for climate giveaways, guided nature walks, discover Nurdles, or test your knowledge with the Trivia Wheel. We’re looking forward to meeting you at the beach!

Join us on the May 27/28 weekend to learn about and take action on the invasive Garlic Mustard plant.  Guided plant removals will take place each day at 11 am.  

Visitors to our outreach station out front of the Eco-Hub can also make pollinator seed balls to take home to plant to help improve local biodiversity! (2 pm to 4 pm)

Are you between the ages of 14 – 24 and are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to learn how YOU can make a difference?

Whether you are a member of an eco-club, have a general interest in the environment, or want to know where to start, we welcome your participation!

Discover our various, meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups.

Have your team join us as Event Greening Ambassadors at local festivals and events to host waste sorting stations helping the public to deposit waste correctly.

Learn how to make your picnic, barbecue or other events more sustainable, or hire us to help at very reasonable rates.

PAST SPRING EVENTS….

Spring Electronic Waste Drive - Saturday, May 13th

Start gathering your broken and unwanted electronic and other items to be recycled as you get ready to come on by to our May 13th zero waste extravaganza!

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, BurlingtonGreen is teaming up with the Burlington Centre and the Burlington Repair Cafe to host this convenient and popular event to help you eliminate clutter from your homes, offices, schools and community centres, so that together we can help the planet locally.

Located at the Burlington Centre parking lot (777 Guelph Line), crew members from the ERA (Electronic Recycling Association) will be on-site to accept computer and cell phone electronics, and a series of Terracycle Zero Waste bins will be stationed at the event to accept more unique waste items not currently accepted in Halton Region’s recycling program.

Join BG's Beach Clean Up - Saturday, April 1st

Join BurlingtonGreen team members on April 1st for a shoreline litter clean up by our headquarters located at the Burlington Beach (1094 Lakeshore Road).  All participants will receive complimentary pollinator plant seed packets ( while quantities last)! 

A Special Webinar with Author Bob Bell - Wednesday, April 5th @ 7 pm

BurlingtonGreen is pleased to be hosting another engaging and informative webinar with the wonderful, Bob Bell. This free event will feature Bob’s personal journey into the world of birding and highlight his recent book, ” Out of the Lyme Light and Into the Sunlight: Birding as Therapy for the Chronically Ill”.

Green Up Tree Planting Event - Saturday, April 22 (Limited Space)

Let’s Grow Burlington’s Tree Canopy Together!

BurlingtonGreen and the City of Burlington Forestry Department are organizing a community tree planting to take place from 9:30 am to noon on Saturday, April 22nd at Millcroft Park.
Together we will plant 500 native trees PLUS 10 lucky participants will each win a beautiful tree to plant at their Burlington homes!

Advance registration is required.

Celebrate Earth Day With Us- Saturday, April 22 - 11 am to 4 pm

Enjoy eco-activities at the BurlingtonGreen Eco-Hub headquarters at the beach on Saturday, April 22nd from 11 am to 4 pm. Join us for a beach litter clean up, a guided tree walk, pollinator seed ball making, an e-bike raffle opportunity, and the Burlington Repair Cafe will be at the event too!
