Youth Network

Are you between the ages of 14 – 24 and are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to learn how YOU can make a difference?

Whether you are a member of an eco-club, have a general interest in the environment, or want to know where to start, we want to hear from YOU!

Join us!

Who: Anyone between the ages of 14 to 24

What: Join us every other week to connect with other like-minded young people as we learn about local and global eco-issues and news, opportunities to help the planet and more. 

Youth Connect 4 Climate provides both online and in-person activities such as:

  • Special Guest Speakers 
  • Eco-film Screenings + post-film discussions
  • Hikes and Opportunities to Connect with Nature
  • Learning about Climate Change terms such as adaptation, mitigation, resiliency
  • Hands-on Habitat Restoration and Clean Up events
  • Invasive Plant Removals
  • Event Greening at Popular Burlington events
  • Special Events and Webinars
  • Volunteering for our Social Media Subcommittee

BGYN ONLINE MEETING & ASK AN ARBORIST

Wednesday, September 21, 6:30 -8:30 pm

Our next BGYN gathering will be online and combined with BG’s Ask An Arborist event, celebrating National Forest Week. We will meet on Zoom at 6:30 pm prior to the special event that will begin at 7:00 pm.

BGYN IN-PERSON MEETING & HANDS ON TREE LOVING CARE WORKSHOP

Saturday, September 24, 9am-12pm

Our next in-person BGYN meeting will be combined with the upcoming TLC (Tree Loving Care) event hosted by BG and the City of Burlington Forestry Department. This year’s event will focus on completing a tree inventory, learning how to properly plant a tree, creating and scattering some native seed balls, and more.

BONUS: the first 20 registrants will receive a free tree to take home and plant! Please note: one tree per family or group or participating business.

We would love to see as many of you at this event as possible, so please make sure you register today!

Once a month, the BGYN is proud to host presentations from Special Guest Speakers, where attendees are able to learn about different career options in the environment sector, learn from diverse eco-journeys and engage with professionals to answer any questions on diverse topics.
