Community Clean Up Green Up - Register Today!

Be a part of this city-wide initiative to help keep Burlington clean, green and beautiful. Organizing a safe, fun and rewarding litter clean up is a terrific way to enjoy the outdoors while helping the planet locally. Gather your family, friends, community group, coworkers and classroom, and help remove litter from our parks, creeks, school yards, neighbourhoods and more.

WOW- You Can Help Us Raise $5,000 during Earth Month!

We invite you to join with other community members to amplify local voices for nature, empower youth, and power positive change.

Your donation of any size through April 30th will be pooled with others to help us reach our goal of raising $5000 to match a donation of the same size from Thordon Bearings. Together we can achieve our Earth Month Challenge.

Green Up Tree Planting Event - Saturday, April 20th (Limited Space)-NOW CLOSED

Let’s Grow Burlington’s Tree Canopy Together!

BurlingtonGreen and the City of Burlington Forestry Department are organizing a community tree planting to take place from 9:30 am to noon on Saturday, April 20th at Pathfinder Park.
Together we will plant 500 native trees PLUS some lucky participants will each win a beautiful tree to plant at their Burlington homes!

BG's First Native Plant Sale!

Pollinators and local biodiversity needs our collective help.  That’s why we’ve got our first Native Plant Sale underway to make it easier for the community to conveniently access and learn about plant species that will not only beautify your garden, but they will also support climate resiliency and a more nature-friendly Burlington.

Plant pick up day will be Monday, May 27th between 10 am and 3:30 pm at the BurlingtonGreen Eco-Hub  by the beach.

Celebrate Earth Day With Us- Saturday, April 27th - 10 am to 4 pm

Enjoy eco-activities at the BurlingtonGreen Eco-Hub headquarters at the beach on Saturday, April 27th from 10 am to 4 pm. Join us for a beach litter clean up ( 11 am), eco-trivia wheel fun, pollinator seed ball making, and more!

Nature Discovery at the Beach This May

Located at the historic Pump House at 1094 Lakeshore RdBeachway Park, pop by our Eco-Hub on weekends and holidays beginning in May for a variety of eco-awareness, advocacy, and action opportunities!

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on May 11th with an informative guided bird walk (10 am), with other weekend opportunities including our first native plant sale, hands-on Garlic Mustard removal workshops,  beach clean up challenge, eco-crafts for kids, discover Nurdles, or test your knowledge with the eco-trivia wheel. We’re looking forward to meeting you at the beach!

And on Monday June 10th at 4:30 pm, we are thrilled to welcome Grandmother Gail from Grandmothers Voice, who will introduce us to some of the medicines (plants) growing in the unique beach ecosystem. Advance registration will be available in May.

Spring Electronic Waste Drive - Saturday, May 25th

Start gathering your broken and unwanted electronic and other items to be recycled as you get ready to come on by to our popular Spring zero waste extravaganza!

On Saturday, May 25th, 10 am to 4 pm, BurlingtonGreen is teaming up with the Burlington Centre and the Burlington Repair Cafe to host this convenient and popular event to help you eliminate clutter from your homes, offices, schools and community centres, so that together we can help the planet locally.

Located at the Burlington Centre parking lot (777 Guelph Line), crew members from Tech Genius Burlington Inc. will be on-site between 10 am to 4 pm to accept computer and cell phone electronics, and a series of Terracycle Zero Waste bins will be stationed at the event to accept more unique waste items not currently accepted in Halton Region’s recycling program.  The Burlington Repair Cafe will be located inside the mall at the community hub room from 10 am to 2 pm. (Guelph Line facing entrance to the left of Starbucks)
