Grow Native Halton is excited to announce our first official collaboration with the City of Burlington Forestry Team!

Join us on Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 PM for a guided woodland walk through Hidden Valley Park—one of Burlington’s lesser-known natural treasures. This beautiful park is home to a remarkable diversity of native trees and offers an excellent opportunity to explore the role our urban forests play in supporting wildlife, improving air quality, storing carbon, and strengthening community resilience.

Led in partnership with members of Burlington’s Forestry staff, this walk will introduce participants to common native tree species, simple identification techniques, and the ecological relationships that make healthy forests possible. We’ll discuss topics such as tree health, habitat value, urban canopy benefits, and the challenges facing Burlington’s forests today.

Whether you are a gardener, naturalist, homeowner, or simply someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, this walk is designed to be accessible, informative, and engaging.
