Featuring a Biodiversity Tour & Plant Sale with Sean James

Join Grow Native Halton for a special guided biodiversity tour and plant sale hosted by renowned ecological landscape designer Sean James at his remarkable Milton property.

This immersive experience will explore how native plants, wildlife, water systems, pollinators, and ecological gardening practices work together to create resilient living landscapes.

Participants will tour the property with Sean while learning about habitat creation, restoration, biodiversity, and the constantly evolving relationships that shape healthy ecosystems.

  • Depending on the day, participants may experience:
Rare butterflies and pollinators moving through the meadows
  • Native orchids possibly still in bloom, including Yellow Lady’s Slippers.
  • Expanding biodiversity-focused gardens and naturalized plantings.
  • Rain gardens and ecological restoration features
  • Birds, insects, and wildlife thriving throughout the property
  • Sean’s striking scree garden blending stone, hardy cacti, and diverse plantings
  • A constantly changing landscape filled with unexpected ecological discoveries
  • And honestly… part of the fun is the “let’s see what we find” aspect of the tour. Every visit to the property can reveal something completely different.

Following the tour, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore and purchase plants from the on-site plant sale.
