Senior Program Manager

Kale has been a part of the BurlingtonGreen team since he was introduced to the organization through his high school co-op placement in 2008. He was BG’s first Youth Program Coordinator and has been instrumental in the launch and development of the BurlingtonGreen Youth Network, Healthy Habitats, Kids Go Green, Burlington Transit Youth Ambassador, Event Greening Services, and more.

In addition to his passion for sustainability, Kale is an experienced event planner and one of the founders and lead organizers of Burlington VegFest. He is also a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant and facilitator, and has been leading workshops and organizational training since 2020 for a wide range of nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations.

With a strong belief that healthy humans create a healthy planet, Kale balances his environmental work with BurlingtonGreen alongside his work as a Holistic Health Practitioner and Meditation Facilitator.

Some of Kale’s environmental achievements include:

  • Co-ordinated the event greening efforts at nearly 100 events in the city, resulting in more than 60 tonnes of recyclables and compostables diverted from landfill.
  • Participated in over 100 habitat restoration events in Halton, including cleanups, plantings, and invasive species removals.
  • Recruited thousands of volunteer hours from the local community, helping to connect citizens with meaningful opportunities to make a positive difference.
  • Facilitated eco-focused workshops for almost 10,000 children through BG’s Kids Go Green program.
  • Co-led the planning of 6 Youth Eco-Summits, reaching over 2,000 students from grades 7 to 12.
  • Hosted 100+ meditation circles in Burlington.
