Join Grow Native Halton for a Nature walk through Neyagawa Woods as we explore one of Oakville’s hidden natural spaces and discover the plants, pollinators, and wildlife that call it home.

Our guide, environmental educator Shelby Scarpelli, has experience in pollinator conservation, ecological restoration, and environmental education. She has led a pollinator garden project at York University and worked as a bilingual environmental educator at Downsview Park.

As we wander the trails, we’ll look for late-summer wildflowers and shrubs, including black-eyed Susans, goldenrods, asters, fleabane, jewelweed, meadowsweet, buttonbush, dogwoods, and cattails. Along the way, Shelby will share tips on plant identification, pollinator relationships, and the fascinating ecology of this unique habitat.
