Event Greening

This impactful program links volunteers to waste diversion projects in the City, resulting in meaningful, measurable benefits to improve the health of the environment. Since our agency's inception in 2009, we have provided our Event Greening services to a whopping 52 events, resulting in an estimated 61,000 kg (61 tonnes), of waste diverted from the landfill.

We offer 3 levels of service to choose from:

To accommodate varying event budgets and needs, we are pleased to offer the following levels of service for you to choose from:

Footprint 75pxCONSULTATION
A BurlingtonGreen team member will meet in-person or via Skype (if preferred by event organizer), with your planning team to discuss your waste management needs, identify practical solutions to reduce your event’s environmental impact (such as food & serving supply considerations, energy use, eco-friendly promotional options, transit ideas and more) and direct you to other relevant community partners/resources, to help you minimize the environmental impact of your event activities. Fee: $175.00.

In addition to the consultation, a BurlingtonGreen team member will attend your event to help set up waste stations, train your volunteers, and we will also provide a brief “report card” after your event, summarizing your event greening results as well as identifying recommendations for further event greening efforts to apply for your future events.
Minimum Fee: $325.00 *subject to change – fee is based on a 1 day event and a base-level of waste stations*.

In addition to the pre-event consultation, we will also work to provide a team of volunteers adorning BurlingtonGreen t-shirts to manage the waste and event-greening efforts at your event from start to finish. We will also provide a brief “report card” summarizing your event greening results as well as identifying recommendations for further event greening efforts to apply for your future events.
Minimum Fee: $325.00 + charges tailored to size and scale of your event.

*In order to receive a post event greening certificate, we will require a verbal or email confirmation from Halton Region (or private waste hauler) confirming the waste was picked up and diverted, plus a photo of each set up waste station (for service level 1).

And, to recognize your valued efforts to host a green event, you will receive a BG Green Event certificate that you can display with pride and we will also recognize your event greening efforts via our web and social media platforms and e-newsletter!

Collected fees support the important work of BurlingtonGreen to create a healthier,
more environmentally responsible city for all of us.
