Climate Change is the most defining crisis of our time, affecting all of us and all life we share the earth with.
In early 2020, the City of Burlington established a Climate Action Plan following up on the climate emergency it declared a year earlier, joining cities around the world in recognizing the necessity to act with urgency on this global crisis.
The City’s Climate Action Plan charts a path forward to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Burlington and we know that it will take all of us fortunate to live and work in this city actively adopting greener practices if we are to achieve the shared goal of ensuring a healthy, livable, resilient community.
To support the community in taking action on climate change here in Burlington, our Make the Switch resources aim to inform and empower, while our non-partisan Community Eco-Network works to advance solutions to tackle climate change locally.
making a difference together
The Community Eco-Network is a welcoming, non-partisan, inclusive opportunity open to residents (including youth) who are keen to learn about climate change and local environmental issues so that together, we can create positive change here in Burlington.
We host educational virtual events and Zoom meet-ups throughout the year and collectively spread the word to the broader community on issues that matter to all of us to support our shared aim to ensure a healthy, resilient environment for now, and for the future.
