2018 Community clean up green up

We extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in last year's Community Clean Up event. That's more than 13,900 of you! Now let's make this year's event even BIGGER AND BETTER!

Check out the Green Wall of Fame for photos from the 2018 Clean Up Green Up!

This popular dual-component event hosted by BurlingtonGreen and sponsored by the City of Burlington, provides an important (and fun!) opportunity for citizens, schools, businesses, neighbourhoods and community groups to come together to clean up and green up Burlington. What a great and meaningful way to celebrate our beautiful city!

To date, more than 90,000 participants have joined the collective clean up effort resulting in cleaner parks, streams, schoolyards and neighbourhoods. Hundreds more have helped to improve local biodiversity, by removing invasive plants from local natural areas and by planting thousands of native plants, shrubs and trees.

We invite YOU to gather your family, friends, group members and coworkers to participate in these IMPACTFUL eco-action events!

You can download our poster here to help us promote this great event. A legal-sized poster with a blank section for you to record your own clean-up event details is also available here.

About Clean Up Week

Everyone is invited to participate during the week of April 22nd – 28th.

All groups are invited to snap a group photo on event day and send it to us so we can post it to our Green Wall of Fame webpage – we want to show off your team efforts!

Showcase your Business:
we want LOTS of Burlington companies to get involved! Register your business, receive free clean-up supplies (if you need some), plus have your business website posted on this page (Check out who is already signed up to participate in the "Who is Participating?" section below). Send in your group Clean Up photo after the event and we'll include in our 2019 Wall of Fame slideshow.

About Green Up Day

With sponsorship from the City of Burlington, we are pleased to host a tree planting event at Brant Hills Park on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for you to help grow our urban tree canopy – we encourage you to get involved.

Refreshments will be available while quantities last.

Be sure to dress for the weather as the event will take place rain or shine. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots – no sandals or flip-flops please! (Sturdy soles help when digging with a shovel). We kindly ask that volunteers bring their own shovels, if you can.
