What we eat is shaped by more than personal preference, nutrition knowledge, or price. The design of our neighbourhoods—where food is available and visible, how safely and comfortably we can reach it, and whether public spaces support gathering and eating together also influences our daily food choices.
In the next session of Cities for Everyone with Gil, guests Adriana Akers and Clara Bitter will introduce the Thriving Foodscapes Approach, developed by Gehl and Cities for Better Health. Through examples from cities around the world, they will share how food places, public space, and public life intersect, and how you can uncover the barriers people face in establishing healthy food routines. The outcome: You’ll learn how to inspire practical changes to public space, programs, and policies that make healthier, more sustainable choices easier and more equitable.
