BurlingtonGreen is pleased to be hosting another engaging and informative webinar with the wonderful, Bob Bell.
This free event will feature a bit more of Bob’s personal journey into the world of birding and highlight his recent book, ” Out of the Lyme Light and Into the Sunlight: Birding as Therapy for the Chronically Ill”.
As a result of contracting Lyme disease, Bob Bell had to retire prematurely in 2015. After relocating to Ancaster, he subsequently discovered that birding was a fantastic coping mechanism for dealing with his chronic pain.
Bob’s talk will describe his onset of a bizarre set of symptoms, followed by his frustrating experience dealing with the conventional medical system, and eventual diagnosis and treatment. He will then discuss his subsequent discovery of the wonderful, therapeutic benefits of birds and birding, explain why it is so beneficial to one’s health, and give resources and tips on how to get into birding as a wonderful hobby.
Out of the Lyme Light can be bought locally at Wild Birds Unlimited and A Different Drummer Books in Burlington, and at King W. Books in Hamilton. It is also available online from Amazon, Indigo, or directly from the publisher.
Bob has previously given three talks for BurlingtonGreen, which are available on YouTube:
