Welcome ...

Supporting local food producers and urban agriculture is part of BurlingtonGreen’s mandate for a healthy environmentally responsible City.
In 2011 BurlingtonGreen received funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and from the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion & Sport Healthy Communities Fund to:
~ do outreach and help improve awareness about the importance of people sourcing their food from local suppliers and farmers;
~to establish a Local Food Resource Network to help people make local food connections;
~ and to create and manage a Community Garden Demonstration site partnering with the City of Burlington.
Since then we have been very busy working to achieve these goals.
What can you discover on our web network? We have created more than 30 pages of information, news items, resources, polls and blogs to help you learn more about local food related topics and opportunities. Visit our Go Local Network menu to check out our complete directory.
Please share with us: a successful Network is about sharing information and ideas with each other. To help make our website truly interactive, we encourage you to contribute your ideas, comments and suggestions. You can do this by clicking on the "Add new comment" link located under each article. We also invite you to visit our Go Local Blog to offer your comments and hear what others have to say about a variety of local food related topics.

BurlingtonGreen would like to thank Sarah Carter of carter-creative.ca for creating the Go Local Food Network logo and illustrations.
We would also like to thank Brian Heagle of Feltmate Delibato Heagle LLP Lawyers for his generous guidance in support of this project
We acknowledge the support of the Government of Ontario and The Ontario Trillium Foundation
