TITLE: USING SCIENCE TO INFORM POLICY IN COASTAL WETLAND PROTECTION: IS THAT ENOUGH?
DESCRIPTION: As part of the UNU-INWEH Coastal Seminar Series on Managing Coasts in a Changing World, we would like to invite you to attend a seminar that will be given by Dr. Pat Chow-Fraser, McMaster University. Pat is an expert on the ecology, conservation and restoration of coastal wetlands and associated streams. Over the past 20 years, she and her students have sampled ~300 wetlands in the Great Lakes basin. For this seminar, she will consider the following question: ‘There has been sufficient science to inform policy, but are people sufficiently informed of the policy?’
Date: 26th January 2012
Time: 4-5pm
Location: McMaster Innovation Park, 175 Longwood Road South, Hamilton
