Back by popular demand, BurlingtonGreen in partnership with the Burlington Central Library are pleased to present the 2012 Eco-Film festival!

Watch ~ Learn & Take action as we present 5 award-winning documentaries about important environmental issues that threaten the health of our planet.

Following each film presentation, our events will each include an important ACTION component where the audience can learn ways they can tackle the issue at the local level.

  • All films will be shown at Central Library (2331 New Street, Burlington) and include $5 admission at the door.
  • Doors open at 6:30 with films beginning promptly at 7:00 pm.
  • Please help us to host a green event - bring your own mug for a complimentary refreshment. Carpool/public transit if you can please.

*March 21: In honour of of World Water Day we present: White Water, Black Gold - an investigative point-of-view documentary that follows David Lavallee on his three-year journey across western Canada in search of answers about the activities of the world's thirstiest oil industry:the Tarsands.

*September 20: In honour of the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity we present: Call of Life:Facing the Mass Extinction: "A beautiful and informative film that is also a call to action. With alarming data about the Earth's rapidly dwindling plant and animal populations-and the skyrocketing rate of extinction—this film tells us that we as humans have to change the way we are living." *October 24:In honour of Canada's Waste Reduction Week we present The Clean Bin Project: Is it possible to live completely waste free? Partners Jen and Grant go head to head in a competition to see who can swear off consumerism and produce the least landfill garbage in an entire year. Their light-hearted competition is set against a darker examination of the sobering problem waste in North American society.
