Celebrating  local achievements toward a better environment are important to BurlingtonGreen.  We recognize that these successes help inspire others to take action!

BurlingtonGreen is pleased to introduce the first Eco-Awards Celebration  to be held on Thursday, November 26 at the Seniors Centre located beside Central Library at 2285 New Street.

This special event is FREE! Doors open at 6:30 where guests are invited to enjoy a light refreshment courtesy of Eco-chefs while visiting the information exhibits of BurlingtonGreen and PERL (Protecting Escarpment Rural Lands).


BurlingtonGreen is thrilled to have Juno  award winning Sarah Harmer sarahharmer.com as our keynote speaker for the evening. Sarah’s beautiful and inspirational music has garnered the attention of  fans worldwide and her award winning documentary, "Escarpment Blues" put a spotlight on the continuing challenges of protecting the natural wonders of the Niagara Escarpment, a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

Our focus for the evening is to celebrate local efforts to support the environment and as a Burlington native who has and continues to raise awareness and dedicate action as a co-founder of PERL( Protecting Escarpment Rural Lands)perlofburlington.org , Sarah is a perfect fit to the evening's festivities." said Kurt Koster - President of BurlingtonGreen.

Sarah has been invited to speak about the work of PERL and share how audience members can get involved to help make a  difference.

Following the keynote, the awards recognition portion of the evening will begin. Nominations for local citizens, businesses and groups have been received and all nominees will be recognized with special gifts being presented to our category winners.Together with the inspired stories of our local eco-award winners,  a special "green"  raffle prize and more......this event is sure to be one you will not want to miss!

Mountain Equipment Co-op has kindly offered stainless water canteens to the first 50 RSVP's so click here and let us know if you are a current BG member and how many will be attending to confirm your attendance and you may be one of the first 50!
